ProbioLens is published by Bartlett Butter LLC (“we”). ProbioLens helps you understand Supplement Facts labels by scanning and interpreting them right on your device. We built it privacy-first: we don’t collect your data because we don’t need it.

ProbioLens does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Everything the app does happens on your device.
What Stays on Your Device
ProbioLens stores the following only on your device, and sends none of it to us or anyone else:
- Photos of labels you take or choose are read on your device using Apple’s on-device text recognition. Photos you save with a scan are kept in the app’s private storage; photos from scans you don’t save are deleted the next time you open the app.
- Scan results and history, including any edits you make and prices you enter.
- Your goals and personal details (for example, shopping goals, age group, pregnancy or breastfeeding, immune-system status, and dietary avoidances), if you choose to enter them. These are optional and are used only to show notes inside the app.
- App settings.
We have no servers that receive this information, and the app works fully offline.
How Analysis Works
All processing is local:
- Text recognition: performed on-device by Apple’s built-in Vision framework.
- Interpretation: label facts are matched against a reference library bundled inside the app.
- Comparisons and cost calculations: computed on your device.
No internet connection is required, and no data leaves your device during any of these operations.
What We Don’t Do
- No account or sign-up.
- No analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
- No tracking across apps or websites.
- No sale or sharing of data with third parties.
Camera and Photo Access
The app asks for camera access only so you can photograph a Supplement Facts label. You can pick a photo from your library instead; the app only receives the photo you select.

ProbioLens does not request access to: location, contacts, microphone, Bluetooth, health data, App Tracking Transparency (ATT), or any other sensitive system permissions.
Data Retention and Deletion
All data exists only on your device. To delete it:
- Saved scans: Settings → Clear scan history.
- Your goals: Settings → Your goals.
- Everything: uninstall ProbioLens from your device.
Your Rights
Since we hold no personal data on any server, there is nothing for us to provide, correct, port, or delete. You have full ownership and control of everything stored locally on your device.
Children’s Privacy
ProbioLens is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. The app is safe for children and complies with applicable child privacy regulations in your jurisdiction.
Not Medical Advice
ProbioLens interprets Supplement Facts labels for educational purposes only. It does not diagnose, treat, recommend, or rank products, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice.
International Users
Because ProbioLens collects no personal data and makes no network requests during normal use, no cross-border data transfer occurs. The app operates the same way regardless of your location.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, the revised version will be posted here with a new effective date.
