TrafficVibe (“the App”) is a free iOS application that gives you a plain-language morning commute briefing built from live traffic, weather, and map data. Your privacy is fundamental to how we built this app. Here’s exactly how your information is handled.
The Short Version
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Do you collect personal data? | No |
| Are there accounts or logins? | No |
| Is there tracking or analytics? | No |
| Are there ads? | No |
| Is my data sold or shared? | No |
| Does the app use my location? | Only if you enable it, and only on your device |
| Can children use the app safely? | Yes |
The only data sent externally is what’s needed to fetch conditions — such as a place name or coordinates — to the mapping, weather, and public-data providers that power your briefing.
What Data We Collect
None on our servers. TrafficVibe has no user accounts, no usage analytics, and no advertising or tracking frameworks. We do not operate a backend that receives or stores your information.
Location
TrafficVibe can use your location to set up a “Current Location” city so your briefing reflects where you actually are. This is optional and only requested with your permission (the “When In Use” location permission). Your location is used on your device to look up conditions and is included in requests to those providers only as coordinates needed to return a result. It is never stored on our servers, because we have none.
What Stays on Your Device
All app data is stored locally on your device:
- Your saved commute cities and routes
- Preferences such as units, time format, and alert settings
- A saved copy of recent conditions so the app opens quickly
This data lives only on your device and is never uploaded to external servers.
Third-Party Services
To build your briefing, TrafficVibe requests data from established mapping, weather, and public-data providers. Each request carries only what’s needed to return a result for the place you’re viewing — a location or a region — and never your identity.
| What we request | Why | What’s sent |
|---|---|---|
| Routing, ETAs, and nearby places | To estimate your commute and show map features | The relevant coordinates |
| Weather conditions | To flag rain, snow, ice, fog, and glare on your route | The relevant coordinates |
| Local map features and holidays | To surface tolls, crossings, cameras, and quieter days | An area or country/date |
| Fuel prices | To show whether it’s a cheap or pricey week to fill up | A region or country |
No accounts, device identifiers, contacts, or tracking information are ever included in these requests, and no provider receives a profile of you.
On-Device Processing
Your briefing and all of its ratings are put together on your device from the conditions TrafficVibe fetches. Your commute — the cities and routes you care about — is used on your device to request those conditions and is never uploaded, profiled, or shared.
Notifications
Departure reminders, delay warnings, and incident alerts are scheduled and evaluated on your device. Enabling notifications does not send any personal data to us or to any third party.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties. We have no data-sharing agreements, no advertising partners, and no analytics providers.
Permissions
TrafficVibe requests location access only to offer the optional Current Location city, and notification access only if you choose to enable alerts. It does not request access to your camera, contacts, microphone, health data, or photos, and it does not use App Tracking Transparency.
Data Retention and Deletion
Since we collect no personal data on our servers, there is nothing to retain or delete on our end. All locally stored data — saved cities, preferences, and cached conditions — is permanently removed when you delete the app from your device.
Your Rights
Because TrafficVibe does not collect or store personal data on any server, there is no personal data to access, correct, export, or delete from our systems. You maintain full control over all locally stored data by managing or removing the app on your device.
Children’s Privacy
TrafficVibe does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Because the app collects no personal data on our servers, it complies with COPPA requirements.
International Users
TrafficVibe works worldwide. Because it collects no personal data on our servers, no cross-border transfer of personal information occurs. Requests to data providers contain only the location or region needed to return conditions, regardless of where you are.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
